Ice Tea Group wins migration contract with major intellectual property firm in Europe.

Società Italiana Brevetti SpA (SIB) decided to convert their internal management system based on Gupta Team Developer, an enterprise level 4GL widely used in the ‘90s, to the modern Microsoft .NET. The company determined that to be able to keep the software up to date with the organization and current technologies it was necessary to move to an industry-standard platform like Microsoft .NET.

A total rewrite would have been close to impossible and very expensive since the system has been continuously developed and adapted to the organization over the past 15 years. The system is used by over 140 users daily to manage thousands of intellectual property applications, complex billing rules, hundreds of forms, laws, deadlines calculations, and standard letters from virtually every country in the world.

After evaluating several alternative solutions, the company determined that Ice Tea Group's migration technology offers the best combination of code-quality, price and support for Gupta features.
