GE Healthcare division has successfully completed the migration of their Centricity Carddas XI² application from Gupta to Microsoft .NET.
The system is used in 260 clinics by over 5,000 users in Europe and Asia. Using Ice Tea Group migration technology and fecher's professional services, GE migrated 600 forms with 35,000 controls, 800 classes, and 200 reports in record time.
AG Büro 70, a software firm in Bern - Switzerland, supports two solutions used in the public domain: a pension fund software (PEKA) and a hospital application (PABS). The Gupta platform used so far for both applications was getting old and making changes to adapt to flexible environments had become increasingly difficult.
In 12 month both applications, including 250 complex reports, 1 million lines, 1,200 forms, 3,000 classes, 30,000 functions, have been successfully migrated to Microsoft Visual Studio, C# and Crystal Reports .NET.
Società Italiana Brevetti SpA selected Ice Tea Group migration technology and services to convert their large Intellectual Property Management, Billing, Time Report Management, and Reporting system from Gupta to Microsoft .NET 3.5, Visual Studio 2008 and Sql Server 2005.
Skanska selected Ice Tea Group technology and services to migrate their complex project management and appraisal application to Microsoft .NET.
Now over 2000 users within the Skanska group are using the new application.
Metzler IT Services migrated over 30 financial and banking applications from Gupta to Microsoft .NET in collaboration with BASYS and Ice Tea Group.
Implico selected Ice Porter™ to process the translation of their OpenTAS® system from Gupta to Microsoft .NET.
Using Ice Porter's translation filters and Visual Studio integration, they put in place a seamless translation process that can convert their Team Developer applications in minutes.
nGroup needed to convert their large and complex eEvolution ERP system, composed of about 50 modules and developed in the last 15 years by many different developers (including Microsoft itself). The ERP system is also known as Apertum.
With over 1 million items, Ice Porter proved to be the only tool capable of handling such a complex project.
We have more experience than anyone else. We have already migrated systems for Logistics, Banking, Financial, Medical, Insurance, CRM, ERP, and more....
We have worked on applications of all sizes, up to some of the largest Gupta systems ever built.
Our standardized solution is less expensive, more reliable, faster, more maintainable, less risky than any alternative approach.
Migrating our software over to .Net couldn't have been any smoother really. Dataline were exceptionally professional, efficient and trustworthy.
Jonathan Hazan CEO, Datix
The entire project was an absolute success. In the new Centricity Carddas version we were able to very easily integrate a solution for presenting statistics in graphic from. The interfaces generated with skinning are also much more consistent than they were with Gupta. Since the code was approved, we have been able to implement significant architecture improvements.
Herbert Schelb Program Manager GE Healthcare IT
The new architecture is a good compromise between having native C# code and preserving all our business logic and complex GUI that was built over many years. Our SAL developers found their way around the new code easily and embraced the new .NET architecture at the same time. Working with the new .NET projects is a win-win situation and, knowing the kind of problems we found after the conversion, the only feasible approach to automated porting.
Mikael Sthom Enterprise IT Architect Skanska Sweden AB
Seeing those old Centura forms running inside our brand new and very modern chrome is a true joy.
Dan Matthews Chief Technology Officer IFS World
We looked at various approaches and alternatives and found that only Ice Tea Group could guarantee that our business logic, vast data structures, and complex user interface was going to be fully preserved while, at the same time, allowing us to use new .NET components seamlessly with the new system. I'm certain that the project will be a success and I'm looking forward to keep our application running and supporting the organization for the foreseeable future.
Mauro Mandolesi IT Director Società Italiana Brevetti S.p.A
As a successful NXT partner, fecher has already moved a whole number of software vendors from Gupta to .NET at a fixed price. For the vendors, this means a successful combination of securing the investments done with the latest Microsoft technology - what NXT ultimately is all about.
Oliver Gürtler ISV Partner Group Manager Microsoft
With The Porting Project, fecher offers a tool based service for Gupta users to migrate their applications onto the .NET platform. By using this platform, they can achieve significant savings both in terms of time and money.
Dr. Lars Lippert Developer Platform & Strategy Group Microsoft
We have decided in favor of automated conversion in order to get a known application to run in a modern environment. Our goal in making this decision was to reduce cost and migration time while increasing the chances of success at the same time. We chose the Ice Tea Group (ITG) solution because their products for the SQLWindows market are a testimony of their excellent expertise and of their innovative ideas. All porting results delivered have a clean structure and are very highly regarded by our SQLWindows developers. Mostly there is none to little manual after-work required. Small problems that can always arise in the course of such a project can be solved easily and quickly.
Constantin Nicolaidis Manager Metzler IT-Services GmbH
First of all my congratulations for what has been regarded as a resounding success. MIMS.NET is running live with almost 100 users in both Australia and New Zealand. Feedback from the users has been very positive and it is fair to say they like their new version of MIMS a lot more than the old. The improved reporting functionality through Crystal, the ability to sort all table windows and the increases in performance has all been big positives. Can you also pass on my thanks to Ice Tea. Those boys (and girls) are something special. I was always a fan of their products and forums but their ability to pull this off has been quite extraordinary.
Mark Connell IT Project Manager Mainfreight Ltd
You surpassed our wildest expectations with your level of support and responsiveness and this deserves recognition.
Shelly Walther Environmental Scientist Ocean Monitoring and Research Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County
Implico decided in favor of Ice Porter/PPJ Framework because the analysis of various tools revealed that the effort of manual afterwork on the ported code would be significantly lower by using the ITG tools. Compared to the concepts of the competitors the amount of testing is considerably less due to the comprehensive support for Gupta features.
Ulrich Kauz Head of Software Development implico GmbH
We have recently seen a groundswell of interest in Microsoft's .NET platform in the UK - particularly with the release of .NET 2.0 - and several of our customers have expressed a pressing need for their applications to become .NET ready and take advantage of a fully endorsed "managed code" environment. Previously, their options have been limited to time consuming and expensive re-writes of application code. Ice Porter provides the option of a true application port resulting in efficient, well-structured C# code following the design maxims laid down by Microsoft, yet incorporating all the key properties of the original Team Developer functionality. By combining our experience with the considerable expertise of the Ice Tea Group, we are able to offer a rapid, low risk and cost effective alternative for organizations that need to provide their customers with tried and trusted applications on the .NET platform.
Adrian Bleach Managing Director Dataline, UK
We see an increasing interest in porting services from customers using SQLWindows/Team Developer. The Porting Project offers a safe, reliable, and extremely fast migration of their SAL-Applications to the Microsoft .NET platform, and from there to the next generation of Web applications, PDA integration, SOAP and Web Services, all natively based on .NET. This helps our customers to protect their investment in their applications.
